A dentist has to use various materials when treating damages in the mouth and teeth. Earlier there was not much attention directed to the biological compatibility of the materials used, whereas durability and aesthetic values were emphasised more. The worst example of this is amalgam, which contains, among other things, mercury.

At City Dental Clinic, we have over 15 years of experience with the examination and treatment of the detrimental effects of biologically incompatible materials. In cooperation with specialists, we have developed an extensive model for treatment, with which we can now reliably ascertain whether a patient is suffering from the detrimental effects of materials used in dental care.

After examination, we determine whether it is a case of disorder of the mouth related to materials used in dental care (allergy, toxic irritation, corrosion damage etc), an immunological disorder or an outright intoxication.

The main goal of the treatment is the safe removal of the detrimental material from the oral cavity and the replacement thereof with a material that is compatible with the conditions of the mouth. Ceramic materials are mainly used in the reconstructive treatment. We try to avoid metals, but the usage of titanium is sometimes required.
